    SATs Information

    What are SATs?
SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) take place during the week beginning 11 May 2026. These are national tests in:

    Reading (1 hour)
Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (2 papers)
Mathematics (3 papers: arithmetic, reasoning 1, and reasoning 2)

    How we're preparing children

    • Regular practice of test-style questions integrated into lessons
    • Focused revision sessions in the spring term
    • Teaching test techniques and time management
    • Building confidence and resilience
    • Maintaining a balanced, broad curriculum

    Supporting your child at home

    • Keep it positive - avoid adding pressure
    • Maintain routines - ensure good sleep, healthy meals, and time to relax
    • Encourage reading - this supports all areas of learning
    • Practice times tables and mental maths - little and often works best
    • Talk about learning - show interest in what they're doing at school
