Music plays an important part in the life of Ledbury Primary School!

It forms an essential part of our daily assemblies and there are two thriving school choirs; KS1 led by Mrs Waters and KS2 by Mrs Holloway. Both choirs gather every week for rehearsals and perform regularly at events such as our Harvest Festival, Christmas Fair, Summer music concert and Summer Carnival. Christmas time is a special time for our school choirs where they can also be seen performing at the church for our carol service but also visit local elderly residents to sing carols bringing lots of Christmas cheer to our community!

Opportunities are available at school for recorders. Beginner classes are taught by Mrs Rees and more advanced pupils are taught by Mrs Holloway. Again, these groups perform their musical talents at regular school events.

Our children are also very fortunate to have the opportunity to play hand bells and bell plates. These clubs are offered to all pupils from Year 2 to Year 6. They learn well known tunes and perform beautifully in our concerts.

We have a multitude of individual instrumental tuition available to all our pupils. Clarinet, drums, flute, violin, cello and piano are a few examples. The Year 4 pupils are also very lucky to be given the opportunity of ukulele sessions as a whole group, where they all work towards putting on a concert for their parents and the end of the year. Please contact our team of staff at the front reception if you have any queries regarding instrumental tuition.

Our summer concert is a huge musical celebration. Our hall is decorated especially for this occasion and our talented children are invited to perform their musical talents and wow their parents and friends. A must for the annual calendar!
