Sporting Events

Ledbury Primary School has achieved the Silver School Games Mark award for commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive sport in 2015/16.

Congratulations to our LPS pupils for being awarded the School Games Silver Mark.  It is a tribute to the hard work of staff who put on extra-curricular activities in their own time and the commitment of our PE leaders, Mrs Harris, Mrs Andrews and Mrs Potter, that have helped us achieve this prestigious award.

The young people who spoke at the presentation were Millie Boucher and Jo Beckingsale. Both are part of the Elite athlete Support Programme at Hereford 6th Form College and are inspiring role models for our young people.

In the photograph, Nellie and Fynn are with Millie and Joe with the LPS silver award; we are heading for gold next year!

SPORTS DAY @LPS

Sports Day at Ledbury Primary School always begins with a parade by our Sports Leaders carrying our "Olympic Torch" which was designed by the children and commissioned by a local blacksmith in 2012 to celebrate the hosting of the Olympic Games in Great Britain.  The Sports Leaders are responsible for organising and leading younger groups of children in sports activities.

Our Sports Day for 2016/17 emulated the Olympic Games, incorporating track and field events.  The grounds were organised into zoned areas with different athletic challenges to capture both field and track sporting challenges.  Each year group moved around the zoned areas so that the children could compete in each activity.
