Welcome to Year 1!
Mrs Perry and Mrs Pullen teach in Year 1 with Mrs Stubbs and Miss Baldwin.
Our topic this year is Up in the Air
STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) sessions will be held every Friday morning.
Homework for Year 1 takes the form of regular reading at home, learning spelling lists ready for the spelling quiz each Friday and counting.
Reading is encouraged every night and children will receive a tick on their star chart at the front of their diaries each time a reading session at home has been recorded. Five ticked stars earns the child a ticket in our raffle box and a chance to be picked for a prize at the end of the week. Very exciting! Please help us to learn about your children's progress by recording in the reading diaries. Children are changing their own reading books as we are encouraging independence and responsibility. This may take a while to perfect so please bear with us!
