Our arrangements for the start and end of the school day are in place with the aim of keeping children safe.
We encourage families to walk to school. Mrs. Clarke is on crossing patrol duty every day. For those arriving by car, a drop off zone operates in the school carpark from 8.35 am. This is manned by school staff, usually our Head Teacher, Mrs. Rees, and our Wellbeing Co-ordinator, Mrs. Merryman.
We welcome children into school when the gates open at 8.35 am and members of staff are on duty on the gates until they are closed at 8.45 pm.
The school doors open at 8.40 am when we offer supervision until the start of the school day at 8.45 am. It is important that children arrive on time as lessons begin immediately after registration.
Parents of Nursery and Reception children take their children into the cloakrooms and leave them with a learning support practitioner. In Year 1 parents leave their children at the classroom door where a learning support practitioner greets them.
Parents asked to leave by 8.45 so that the gates can be closed.
Children from Year 2 upwards are encouraged to come into school independently.
Nursery session times are:
Mornings 8.45am – 11.45 am
Afternoons 12.15 pm – 3.15 pm
Children can attend for the whole day
The school day begins at 8.45 am and ends at
3.00pm for children in Nursery and Reception
3.05pm for children in Years 1 and 2
3.10pm for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6
Parents collect children from the Reception playground (Nursery and Reception), the Key Stage 1 playground (Years 1, 2, 3, 4) and from the gate between the KS1 gate and Reception gate for years 5 and 6. Except for those older children who walk home, children will remain with the teachers until a parent is identified. Children will be allowed to go home only with those adults specified by the parents.
