Ledbury Primary School has achieved the Gold School Games Mark award for commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive sport in 2018/19.
Congratulations to our LPS pupils for being awarded the School Games Gold Mark. It is a tribute to the hard work of staff who put on extra-curricular activities in their own time and the commitment of our PE leaders, Miss Williams and Mrs Potter, that have helped us achieve this prestigious award.
Pupils from all year groups at Ledbury Primary School are provided with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sporting activities including football, netball, hockey, golf, athletics, gymnastics and lacrosse Unfortunately due to Covid-19, we have been unable to take part in as many sporting activities as we would have liked to but our calendar is already filling up with upcoming events.
Sports Day at Ledbury Primary School always begins with a parade by our Sports Leaders carrying our "Olympic Torch" which was designed by the children and commissioned by a local blacksmith in 2012 to celebrate the hosting of the Olympic Games in Great Britain. This year, children took part in a number of energetic sporting events in their Phases. The sun was shining and everyone had a wonderful time!
Children from Reception up to Year 6 loved taking part in a Skipping Workshop run by Jump Rope UK. Children came to school wearing their PE kit and had a 40 minute workshop where they learned how to skip in a number of ways as well as a few trick jumps!
Mrs Ussher and Miss Williams took a Y6 boys' cricket team to a number of tournaments in Summer 2021 where they demonstrated excellent teamwork, batting, bowling and fielding skills.
