This term's topic is: Stone Age to Iron Age
and the Second World War
In English we will be starting this half of term by looking at the story of Simon Coencas, one of the boys who discovered the Lascaux cave paintings and a Parisian Jewish refugee. We will be writing a letter as Simon to our friends and relatives back in Paris and investigating what wartime would have been like for other Jewish children by writing a biography of Anne Frank.
In Maths we will spend this half term making sure we have a secure understanding of fractions, including how to compare and simplify fractions, find equivalent fractions with a common denominator and add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. We will then move on to decimals and percentages. Having a real grasp on times table facts makes the learning of these new concepts quicker. Please keep practising these at home everyone.
